Can a vehicle that has been started remotely using the fordpass app be immediately driven? Dealer said it takes 30 minutes and by the time i got home it would show. However, on the sync3 system, you have to disable android auto if you want to use ford pass (i think ford pass is compatible with apple car play).

I agree with alex in that the built in modem is required for live traffic and the remote features, lock and unlock doors and remote start etc and does not require wifi for functionality. You are getting a bunch more than remote start for that upcharge. 8 or 9 times out of 10 the van fails to remote start/lock/unlock or even refresh in the app. Hopefully this gets fixed on the new sync4 system.
